About Me!

Hi, I’m Sonya — an EA by profession, a Botanist by education and a solo traveler who’s spent the last decade tracking down the heritage sites most travel blogs never cover. This site is where I document them: various ancient monument architecture across the Deccan, offbeat circuits through Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and the Northeast, and the exact itineraries I actually followed — trains, timings and all.

I started trekking in 2009 with a group called VRangers, moved into range trekking with Shikhar Vedh, further started planning and executing biking trips and eventually got tired of waiting for group plans to come together. So I started traveling solo — and it turned out to be the best decision I’ve made as a traveler. Now I go solo once or thrice a year on any extended break, researching obsessively beforehand and writing it up in as much detail as I wish someone had given me.

Everything on this site is organized by state, so if you’re planning a trip, you can go straight to where you’re headed. There’s also a dedicated Itinerary section with the exact day-by-day plans I’ve followed and refined — built to be copied, adjusted and used.

If you’re planning a trip to a place I’ve covered, or want help figuring out logistics for somewhere similarly offbeat, get in touch — I’m happy to help.
